Director Tsui Hark recently confirmed an ambitious plan to make Seven Swords a seven-party series during an interview with the Beijing-based web site Sina.com. The first film, titled Seven Swords, which will get an Asian release starting July 29, was only based on the first chapter of the original book, Seven Swordsmen Leave Heaven Mountains, by Liang Yu-Sheng. Tsui said during the interview that the story was so rich that one or two movies were not enough.
