Let the Right One In director to tackle big-budget fantasy adaptation Larklight

Tomas Alfredson, who directed the cult classic Swedish vampire film Let the Right One In, has been tapped to helm the adaptation of Larklight, a period fantasy film for Warner Bros. Eastern Promises screenwriter Steve Knight is currently re-writing the script, according to WorstPreviews/THR.

Larklight, based on a 2006 book by Philip Reeve, is set in a Victorian-era alternate universe and centers on a band of renegade space pirates attempting to save the world from destruction at the hands of a madman.
