Taraji P. Henson returns to the assassination game in Babak Najafi’s action thriller Proud Mary

In Babak Najafi’s action thriller Proud Mary, Taraji P. Henson is Mary, a hit woman working for an organized crime family in Boston. Her life gets completely turned around when she meets a young boy whose path she crosses when a professional hit goes bad. Proud Mary also stars Billy Brown, Jahi Di’Allo Winston and Danny Glover.

This isn’t the first time Taraji P. Henson has played a hit woman. She was a freelance assassin – and one of the only survivors – in Joe Carnahan’s cult favorite Smokin’ Aces. From the look of Proud Mary, it seems to be a more straight up action film. We’ll find out on January 12th, 2018, when Proud Mary hits theaters.
