Variety reports that Hard Candy director David Slade, who also steered The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, will direct the next Daredevil movie for Fox. Peter Chernin will produce the project, which doesn’t have a writer yet, according to a THR report.

Fox says it’s aiming to make a movie that continues the story begun by the 2003 Ben Affleck movie so it is not a “reboot.” Affleck is apparently not involved in the new project, and since the Daredevil movie is still in the development stages, Slade’s next project is likely to be the Phoenix Pictures’ period horror The Last Voyage of the Demeter. The lead role is not yet cast, however Ben Kingsley and Noomi Rapace are already attached to co-star.

Demeter follows the ill-fated crew aboard the namesake merchant ship, which carried Dracula’s coffin from Transylvania to England, only to arrive at port with no survivors aboard.
