Michael Winner will appear in person for a double feature of two of his 1970’s action classics, The Mechanic and Scorpio, two of my favorite action films of all time. The event will take place on Saturday, March 12th, beginning at 7:30pm. The Egyptian Theatre will play host, which is located at 6712 Hollywood Boulevard, in Hollywood, California.

The Mechanic centers on ace assassin Charles Bronson, who takes on protege Jan-Michael Vincent. But as he teaches him the tricks of the trade, the master begins to realize he might be training his own future adversary. Twists and turns abound in this riveting action film.

Scorpio centers on CIA agent Cross (played by a gritty Burt Lancaster), who is accused of treason and marked for death. Jean Laurier (a smooth but deadly Alain Delon) is the expert assassin sent to kill him. There’s only one problem for Laurier – the two men are close friends.

Charles Bronson, Alain Delon and Burt Lancaster onscreen, and a discussion between films with Michael Winner moderated by Larry Karaszewski – sounds like a ‘winner’ to me.
