Jim Jarmusch and Alex Cox to have Q & A after cult classic Straight to Hell screening

Director Alex Cox (Sid & Nancy, Repo Man) revisits his 1986 cult classic Straight to Hell, adding previously cut scenes and some extra blood spatter, plus a brand new soundtrack, in a screening at 92Y Tribeca, located at 200 Hudson Street in New York City. The event takes place on Thursday, March 3, 2011, beginning at 7:30 PM.

Straight to Hell centers on a group of barely competent thieves (played by Joe Strummer, Sy Richardson, Courtney Love and Dick Rude) that decide to hide out in a deserted town, stashing the cash from a recent bank robbery. Much to their chagrin, the town soon attracts coffee-addicted bandits who are sometimes friendly, but mostly not. The tension builds and a shootout is inevitable. With a cast that includes Dennis Hopper, Grace Jones, Elvis Costello and Jim Jarmusch, Straight to Hell Returns is a grimy comedy and as punk as a film can be.

Alex Cox will be in conversation with Jim Jarmusch following the screening.
