Must-see trailer for award-winning One Hundred Mornings shows what a post-apocalyptic Ireland might look like

I received a link to this trailer for an indie thriller called One Hundred Mornings, which takes place in a post-apocalyptic Ireland. That was easily enough information for me to read more about the movie.

It turns out the film – which was funded by the Irish Film Board under the Catalyst Project for first time feature directors – was chosen by a growing creative community for artists, designers, filmmakers and creatives called Work Book Project, for its WorkBook Discovery and Distribution Award – an effort to help give a boost to exciting creative works that might otherwise not be seen. As part of the prize, the winner – One Hundred Mornings – was given a one-week theatrical release at the state of the art Downtown Independent Theater in Los Angeles. In addition, the winning filmmaker – writer/director Conor Horgan – will receive a special package consisting of publicity, a street team and social media support. The filmmaker also gets 100% of the box office receipts, to be used as funding for future distribution opportunities. An inspirational and worthy concept indeed.

One Hundred Mornings stars Ciarán McMenamin, Alex Reid, Rory Keenan, Kelly Campbell, Paul Ronan and Robert O’Mahony.

Again, the screenings take place at the Downtown Independent Theatre, located at 251 South Main Street, in Los Angeles, California. Opening night is Thursday, September 16th at 8:00PM, with subsequent screenings as follows:

  • Friday Sept. 17th: 7:30 pm, 9:30 pm
  • Sat Sept. 18th: 5:30 pm, 7:30 pm, 9:30 pm
  • Sun Sept. 19th: 5:30 pm, 7:30 pm, 9:30 pm
  • Mon Sept. 20th: 7:30 pm, 9:30 pm
  • Tues Sept. 21st: : 7:30 pm, 9:30 pm
  • Wed Sept. 22nd: 7:30 pm, 9:30 pm

One Hundred Mornings writer/director Conor Horgan, along with producer Katie Holly and cast member Kelly Campbell, will be in attendance for the opening night event. Then every night of the run following opening night will feature an independent local short film curated by Cinefist, Cinema Speakeasy and Slamdance.

Here’s the synopsis for One Hundred Mornings:

Set in a world upended by a complete breakdown of society, two couples hide out in a lakeside cabin hoping to survive the crisis. As resources run low and external threats increase, each of them faces a critical decision they never thought they’d have to make.
