Warner Bros. has become a leader in producing high-quality motion comics that either continue the narrative storyline of a live-action feature film, or that fill in gaps between sequels or within a single movie’s plot line.
The animation quality and depth of story at times can almost equal the narrative of the film that their attached to – as in the case of Watchmen. This is especially true for hardcore comics fanboys, who see motion comics as an extension of the pages they’ve been reading for years.
Now the studio is releasing a series of Jonah Hex Motion Comics to coincide with the release of the feature film that hit theaters today, and frankly, I’m just as excited about the motion comics as I am about the live-action film, maybe more-so.
Jonah Hex Motion Comics is an all-new collection of stories featuring DC Comics character Jonah Hex, the ruthless bounty hunter with a conscience. Three of his original comic book stories have been brought to life, panel by panel, for the first time ever and told in seven episodes.
Check out eight exclusive clips from the motion comics series below, and tell me you’re not excited to watch the entire series.
