Horror comes to my hometown this weekend with the inaugural edition of Saturday Nightmare’s Weekend of Horrors, taking place at the historic Loew’s Jersey in Jersey City. This is the perfect venue for the event, offering enough classic touches, dark hallways and retro bathrooms to make any classic horror movie festival feel right at home.

Guests at the event include horror legends George A. Romero, Tom Savini, Ken Foree and Adrienne Barbeau, along with cast members from Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead and Martin, John Amplas, Harry Manfredini, Joe Pilato, special FX wizard Joshua Turi, and more. There will be 35mm screenings of Night of the Living Dead and Creepshow, as well as video screenings of original Twilight Zone episodes on the grand Loew’s Jersey screen.

On Saturday evening, Saturday Nightmares will be hosting a panel discussion with filmmaker George A. Romero and cast members from the Dead films, hosted by documentary filmmaker Roy Frumkes, and a premiere screening of Frumkes’ newly remastered and updated documentary The Definitive Document of the Dead.
