January Jones – best known for playing seductive suburban mother Betty Draper on Mad Men – has been cast to play the female lead opposite Nicolas Cage in the vigilante thriller The Hungry Rabbit Jumps.

‘Hungry Rabbit’ is scheduled to start shooting in early December, with James Stern and Tobey Maguire among the producers, along with veteran indie producer Ram Bergman.

The film follows Nicolas Cage as a man who, after a crime is committed against his wife, gets more than he bargained for when he enlists a vigilante group to help him settle the score. Jones will play the brutalized wife.

Roger Donaldson (Thirteen Days, The World’s Fastest Indian, The Recruit, The Bank Job) is attached to direct ‘Hungry Rabbit’ from a screenplay by Robert Tanen (Even Money).

Jones was also recently cast in the thriller Unknown White Male, opposite Liam Neeson and Diane Kruger. In ‘Male’, Neeson plays a man who awakens from a coma and discovers that someone has taken his identity.
