In the compelling and poignant action film, Fighter, Aicha (Semra Turan), a high-school student in Copenhagen, dreams of becoming a mixed martial arts champion. But her parents, conservative immigrants from Turkey, oppose what they consider an unsuitable activity for a girl and instead insist that she study hard to get into medical school.
