Underworld 4 has potential release date and will be shot in 3-D

ShockTillYouDrop reports that Screen Gems is moving ahead with a fourth Underworld movie and is targeting a January 21, 2011 release. The film will be shot in 3-D also, according to the report.

No mention as to whether Underworld: Rise of the Lycans stars Michael Sheen, Bill Nighy and Rhona Mitra, or former franchise toppers Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman will return for the new film.

The studio was apparently pleased with the performance of Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, which was made for just $35 million and earned $91.1 million in worldwide box office.
