Check out these two new character posters for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Two sweet new posters for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time have been posted at Empire. The one-sheets feature Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton character close-ups, upping the ante of this film to historical epic status.

Based on the popular series of videogames, the story revolves around a rogue prince named Dastan (Gyllenhaal) and the mysterious princess Tamina (Arterton), who reluctantly team up to safeguard an ancient dagger that could release the Sands of Time, allowing its possessor to reverse time and rule the world. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time also stars Sir Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina, and is being directed by Mike Newell.

It is scheduled to hit theaters on May 28, 2010.
