The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Peter Jackson, who’s finishing up the horror film The Lovely Bones and James Cameron’s epic sci-fi movie Avatar, are purported to be among the highlights of this summer’s 40th Anniversary edition of Comic-Con International in San Diego, according to the New York Times.
Jackson has never attended the event, despite having had many of his films promoted at the show. The director will appear in the grand Hall H of the San Diego Convention Center, to promote the movie District 9, a sci-fi thriller due to be released on August 14, 2009. Jackson produced District 9, which was directed by Neill Blomkamp (Tempbot), who will also attend.
Comic-Con is still finalizing its schedule, but it is possible James Cameron may bring exclusive clips from his 3D sci-fi epic Avatar to the event as well. The filmmaker is still deciding, according to reports.
Warner Brothers will make presentations for approximately 10 films, although it hasn’t fully determined the lineup.
Comic-Con International runs from July 23-26th, 2009, with a preview night exclusively for four day pass holders, on July 22nd.
