According to Empire magazine, Gemma Arterton – who recently appeared in Quantum of Solace – is attached to play a demi-goddess in Louis Leterrier’s (Transporter 2, The Incredible Hulk) upcoming remake of Clash of the Titans. According to the actress, the new fantasy film differs from the 1981 Harry Hamlin original.

“Obviously the story is the story, but it’s much more about Perseus’ mission and how he deals with being the son of Zeus and things like that, so it feels a little more about him and about the issues around that,” she told the magazine.

Sam Worthington, who’s about to play a half-man half-machine in Terminator Salvation, is set to play Perseus, and according to a variety of reports, Liam Neeson was offered the role of Zeus. Obviously, In the wake of the death of his wife, Natasha Richardson, that is very much in question.
