According to Moviehole, the Terminator Salvation ending that finally makes it to cinemas in May, isn’t the one McG started with.

According to the original rumors, which appeared on AICN, C.H.U.D. and others, the big reveal in the film was that Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), who has the endoskeleton of a cyborg, assumes leadership of the human rebellion at the end of the film, impersonating John Connor (Christian Bale), who apparently dies, by putting on his skin.

Director McG originally denied the rumored ending reports on his blog in 2008. But Moviehole has apparently gotten the straight dope from someone working on the project. CLICK HERE to read the entire update on the issue.

Also, Sony’s international site for the new Terminator installment, has a batch of new images from the film RIGHT HERE.

Terminator: Salvation, which stars Christian Bale, Anton Yelchin, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood and Common, hits theaters on May 21, 2009.
