Producer Donald De Line told Dark Horizons that a live-action film based on the 1960s animated series The Jetsons is going to happen. The Jetsons has been in development, since May of 2007, and has been in development hell ever since.
“In fact, Robert Rodriguez, who lives right here in Austin, has done a great draft of the script, and we’re all talking with Warners right now about getting that together,” De Line said.
The original Hanna-Barbera show, about an American nuclear family in a jet-set future, aired Sundays on ABC from 1962 to 1963. The live-action film is currently scheduled to be released sometime in 2012.
