Samuel L. Jackson signs a ‘furious’ Marvel deal

Samuel L. Jackson – who just recently was supposedly on the outs with Marvel Studios over reprising his role as Nick Fury, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., has signed a whopping nine-picture deal to play the character in a series of upcoming films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The projects include Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers and multiple sequels. There is also a possible S.H.I.E.L.D. movie on the slate.

Jackson was expected to be part of the upcoming Iron Man sequel, however as Marvel negotiated with the cast of the blockbuster film, deals proved hard to come by. Terrence Howard was replaced by Don Cheadle. The jury is still out on whether Mickey Rourke will play a villain in Iron Man 2, after almost two months of negotiations.
