Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain are now attached to adapt the Red 5 comic ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction for Benderspink films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Originally created by actor Kevin Grevioux, who recently appeared as a human-turned-Lycan in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, the comic follows an elite team of soldiers sent on a covert operation into hostile territory in the Middle East to stop what they soon discover to be a government-created army of zombies.

ZMD is the latest in a string of Benderspink comic options, which also include Y: The Last Man, currently in development at New Line Cinema, Pet Robots, which is on the blocks at Disney, and The Ghouly Boys, being developed with Mandate Pictures.

Blackman and McCain also co-wrote Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and wrote and directed Outlander.
