The Passion Chosen as Favorite Film

USA TODAY and Coca-Cola presented the award for Consumers Choice for Favorite Movie of 2004 to The Passion of the Christ at ShoWest in Las Vegas.

Mel Gibson, director, producer, and co-writer of the film, accepted the award at ShoWest’s final night banquet and awards ceremony Wednesday night. The award was presented by Jacki Kelley, senior vice president/advertising for USA TODAY and Kathleen Ciaramello, vice president/entertainment partners and strategic alliances, Coca-Cola North America.

USA TODAY and USATODAY.com readers chose The Passion of the Christ as their favorite movie of the year from among the top ten grossing movies of 2004. This is the first-ever consumer award for movie of the year to be presented at ShoWest, which is the largest annual convention for the motion picture industry.
