NAACP Image Awrds Nominees and Winners

This year’s NAACP Image Awards, given out on March 19, 2005, were another big hit for Jamie Foxx for his Oscar Award winning performance in Ray. Other top contenders for the night included R&B superstar Usher, who was nominated for a total of five Image Awards including outstanding song for Yeah! and outstanding album for Confessions.

The NAACP Image Awards telecast to be aired on March 25, 2005 at 8PM EST on FOX Television.

Additional honorees on the big night – hosted by actor Chris Tucker from the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles – included U.S. Senator Barack Obama who received the Chairman’s Award, and pop singer and songwriter, Prince, who was given the Vanguard Award. Inducted into the NAACP Hall of Fame this year was talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
