Hot off the success of the RAY CHARLES BIOPIC, JAMIE FOXX has just picked up another hot project. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he will be headlining Sony Pictures and Original Films upcoming THE EXECUTIONER’S GAME. The film will be based on GARY HARDWICK’S novel of the same name, which will be released in January of next year by HarperCollins.

This could turn out to be a very important turn in Foxx’s already sizzling career. He is getting Oscar buzz for his role in RAY, and now picking up this one, bodes very well for his future in the industry.

The story revolves around an undercover government operative who must track down and assassinate his mentor, who’s gone rogue.

Hardwick wrote and directed his last two features, DELIVER US FROM EVA and THE BROTHERS, but is not attached to direct this pic. MATT TOLMACH and SHANNON GAULDING will produce for Sony. This is Hardwick’s sixth novel. He just wrapped THE COLOR OF JUSTICE for Focus Films, another one of his novels that is headed to theatres.
