Nicolas Cage is set to star in a remake of the 1970s horror classic The Wicker Man. Edward Woodward, Britt Ekland and Christopher Lee starred in the original 1973 film, which has earned a cult following over the years.
Cage will take on Woodward’s role of a police officer who arrives in a sheltered community to investigate the disappearance of a young girl with some chilling consequences. Neil LaBute will helm the picture.
While the original was set on the remote Scottish Island of Summer Isle, this update will relocate the action to a small town off the coast of Maine.
Filming on the remake is set to start in July.
