Highlander and Devil May Cry, the Anime films

According to Anime News Network, at the 2007 Tokyo International Anime Fair, also called TAF, the booth for the anime production company Madhouse included promotions for some of their new titles.

For one, an anime based on the popular Capcom video game Devil May Cry is in the works. The anime is slated to debut on Japanese Cable and Satellite network WOWOW on June 14th. The series is being directed by Shin Itagaki, who directed the Black Cat anime series and has worked on drawings for many TV and theatrical anime films, including Princess Mononoke and Dead Leaves.

Another project earning the Japanese studio a lot of attention is their development of a full-length anime based on the 1986 sci-fi action film Highlander. The new anime will focus on the storyline from the TV series based on that movie. The anime is being directed by legendary Ninja Scroll director Yoshiaki Kawajiri and is expected to be in theaters in Japan later this year.
