David Koepp talks screenwriting and Indiana Jones 4

Writer/filmmaker David Koepp (Mission: Impossible, Jurassic Park, Spider-Man, Panic Room) recently spoke with Filmstew about his year working with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas on the script for Indiana Jones 4. Among other things, he discusses how the first Indiana Jones film inspired him to be a screenwriter, and the pressure one feels when handling iconic properties like Spider-Man and Indiana Jones.

But there are only “a few pebble-sized hints” to the storyline for the new film, but a great tease nonetheless.

The script for Indiana Jones 4 is ready and filming is expected to begin in June 2007. Steven Spielberg will be at the helm, and Harrison Ford again dons the old fedora. Also rumored to be in the film are Natalie Portman, Sean Connery, John Rhys-Davies, and Karen Allen. The new film is due in 2008.
