Take a look at Mickey Rourke as Whiplash in Iron Man 2

USA Today has posted our first look at Mickey Rourke as Whiplash from the upcoming Iron Man 2 sequel. This image shows Whiplash making an appearance at the Monaco Historic Grand Prix in the film. Director Jon Favreau has been hush-hush regarding the story line of the new film and won’t say whether the big-screen Whiplash is, as in the comic, a weapons designer who works for Justin Hammer (being played in the film by Sam Rockwell), a competitor of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.).

Also appearing in Iron Man 2 will be Don Cheadle, who replaces Terrence Howard as Col. James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff a.k.a. Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and possibly Paul Bettany as The Avengers’ Edwin Jarvis.

Iron Man 2 is due in theaters on May 7, 2010.
