Sly Stallone did his best to lure Tango & Cash co-star Kurt Russell to appear in Expendables

According to the StalloneZone fan site, Sly did his best to lure his Tango & Cash so-star Kurt Russell to his forthcoming action film The Expendables. With a supporting cast including action movie icons Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Randy Couture, Eric Roberts and even a cameo appearance by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, it would seem to be a given that Russell would factor in there someplace, right? “Wrong” as the Terminator would say.

“I know that many people on the site have asked for Kurt Russell. I asked for him too. Actually, I was taken aback when asked to put the request in a letter and send it to his agent. Subsequently, I was called back by the agent several days later after refusing to send a letter and he said Kurt Russell is not interested in ‘ensemble acting’ at this time. So, people, I came, I saw, I failed”.

So no Russell apparently in The Expendables, according to the site. In any case, The Sylvester Stallone written and directed Expendables, hits theaters on April 23rd, 2010.
