Edward Norton circling role as villain in next Jason Bourne spy film

Edward Norton is in talks to play the villain in Universal Picture’s The Bourne Legacy opposite Jeremy Renner, according to Variety.
Michael Clayton and Duplicity director Tony Gilroy – who wrote scripts for the previous Jason Bourne adventures – is attached to direct Bourne Legacy from his own screenplay. Rachel Weisz is also attached to star, according to the report.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but apparently the Jason Bourne character will not be featured in the film, while Renner will play another assassin trained in the same program that Bourne trained under. Frank Marshall, Ben Smith and Jeffrey Weiner are producing The Bourne Legacy.

Ed Norton is currently shooting the Wes Anderson film Moonrise Kingdom.
