The Matrix creators reach out to Will Smith for new secret action film project

Andy and Lana (formerly Larry) Wachowski – the wunderkinds behind the sci-fi classic The Matrix – are developing a secret project at Warner Bros. called Hood, which is described as a modern, urban take on Robin Hood, according to an exclusive THR report. The Wachowskis are writing and attached to direct the film, currently shrouded in secrecy.

According to the report, the filmmaking duo are reaching out to actors, and Will Smith is one of them.

The pair have also been working on an Iraqi war movie titled Cobalt Neural 9 (CN-9), which is being told from the point of view of archeologists piecing together events from the U.S. occupation of Iraq using found footage and includes two male soldiers falling in love and a plot to assassinate George W. Bush. Cobalt Neural 9 has apparently been slow to find financing, although they have shot some talking-head sequences with Arianna Huffington, Salman Rushdie, Jesse Ventura and Cornel West.
