A new behind-the-scenes video featuring writer/director Gareth Edwards discussing the inventive shooting tactics used during the production of Monsters, is now online.
Monsters has been getting a lot of buzz ever since its Cannes screening, and now Magnolia Pictures’ genre arm Magnet is set to release the film in the U.S.
Monsters, which stars Whitney Able and Scoot McNairy, takes place six years after a NASA probe returning to earth with samples of an alien life form, crashes over Central America. Soon after the disaster, new life forms began to appear, and half of Mexico was quarantined as an “Infected Zone”. The film begins when a US journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border, while the American and Mexican military struggle to contain “the creatures”.
