Warner Bros. has scheduled Sherlock Holmes 2 for a December 16, 2011 release date and is apparently close to giving the green light on a film adaptation of DC Comics hero Flash, according to HeatVisionBlog.
The announcements were made during a slide during a presentation Thursday by Warner chairman and CEO Barry Meyer, as part of a 2011 film slate that will have about 25 films.
Other big projects Meyer discussed during the event included Red Riding Hood (April 22, 2011), The Hangover 2 (May 26, 2011), Green Lantern 3D (June 17, 2011), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II 3D (July 15, 2011), Journey to the Center of the Earth 2 3D (Sept. 23, 2011), Happy Feet 2 3D (Nov. 18, 2011), and New Year’s Eve (Dec. 9, 2011)
Meyer also announced that DC Comics characters are a key part of Warner’s future movie production slate, mentioning a July 20, 2012 release date for the latest Batman film by Christopher Nolan and a holiday season 2012 Superman movie. He added that the studio is near a go for a Flash movie, with films featuring Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Mad magazine characters also in development.
