The Twilight Saga: New Moon world premiere to stream live on the web

MySpace will host an exclusive live stream of Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon red carpet arrivals at the world premiere of the film on Monday, November 16th. The unprecedented online access is the first time moviegoers across the globe will be able to experience the premiere first-hand, as it unfolds. Viewers will also be able to take part by posting comments and questions to The Twilight Saga: New Moon Premiere MySpace page that may even be presented to the celebrities during the broadcast. The red carpet arrivals will stream live from Los Angeles beginning at 6:00 PM PT (Pacific Standard Time). Anya Marina, writer and performer of “Satellite Heart” on The Twilight Saga: New Moon Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, will co-host the broadcast.

In celebration of the highly anticipated event, fans are encouraged to host viewing parties in their local cities or may simply enjoy the broadcast from the comfort of their homes.

Additionally, the winner of MySpace’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon Red Carpet Correspondent Contest will conduct interviews on the red carpet during the live stream and attend the premiere.

The live stream is just one component of the highly integrated MySpace campaign with The Twilight Saga: New Moon. MySpace has featured various exclusive content from the film across all areas of the site including Movies, Music, Video and homepage takeovers. MySpace Trailer Park debuted the first trailer, which was the site’s most successful to date with a total of 4.2 million online views within the first 24 hours and 7.8 million within the first seven days. MySpace Music revealed the much anticipated soundtrack listing, provided users an early free stream of the album in its entirety and devoted Featured Playlists from those affiliated with the film. Additionally, many of MySpace’s original programs were dedicated to The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Cast members will take part in live chats and archived footage of the premiere will be available during the film’s opening week.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon is directed by Chris Weitz, with a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg, based on the book series by Stephenie Meyer. In the film, the romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as Bella Swan (Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of—only to find herself in greater peril than ever before. Following Edward Cullen’s (Pattinson) departure from Forks, Washington, Bella discovers his image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy. In time Bella’s frozen heart is gradually thawed by her budding relationship with Jacob Black (Lautner) who has a supernatural secret of his own.

The original modern day vampire love story Twilight, the first film in the series, was released in theatres on November 21, 2008 to a blockbuster reception. The second installment of the film franchise, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, will be released on November 20, 2009. The third film in the franchise, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is due in theaters on June 30, 2010.
