First trailer for Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant is now online

AOL has posted a teaser trailer for Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant. The film stars Chris Massoglia as Darren Shan, a teenage boy who is turned into a vampire by an eccentric named Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly), only to find himself caught in a war between rival vampire sects.

The cast also includes Ken Watanabe, Salma Hayek, Patrick Fugit, Orlando Jones and Jane Krakowski, with Paul Weitz (About a Boy) at the helm, from a script he co-wrote with Brian Helgeland (Payback, Man on Fire), based on the popular series of books by Darren Shan.

Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant is set to hit theaters on October 23, 2009.
