Watch Hilary Swank fly in the trailer for Amelia

Hilary Swank stars as the title character of Amelia, a look at the life of legendary American pilot Amelia Earhart, who mysteriously disappeared while flying over the Pacific Ocean in 1937, while attempting to make a flight around the world.

Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor, Virginia Madsen, Christopher Eccleston and Mia Wasikowska also star in the Mira Nair (Vanity Fair, The Namesake)-directed film, which lands in theaters on October 23, 2009.
