Adam Sandler, Cher, Jon Favreau, Sylvester Stallone and Judd Apatow will handle voiceover duties for the animals in MGM’s live-action comedy The Zookeeper, which stars Kevin James and Rosario Dawson, according to Variety.

Sandler, whose production shingle Happy Madison will produce the film, will voice a capuchin monkey. Cher is set to voice a giraffe, Stallone a lion, Favreau a bear and Apatow will be an elephant.

Jim Breuer, Faizon Love and Bas Rutten will also voice characters in the upcoming film.

The Zookeeper – which will begin filming late this summer for an October 8th, 2010, release – follows zoo animals trying to teach the keeper their methods of mating in order to help him win back the woman he loves. Frank Coraci will direct, from a screenplay by Jay Scherick, David Ronn, James, Rock Reuben and Nick Bakay.
