The indie film Basra, which focuses on a unique perspective of the Iraq War, has been selected for official competition at The 32nd Cairo International Film Festival 2008, which runs from November 18-28, 2008. Basra follows an Egyptian photographer trying to find meaning in his own life, during the events leading up to the invasion of Irag in 2003.
The Ahmed Rachwan-directed film, stars Basem Samra, Yara Goubran, Eyad Nassar and Christine Solomon.
Basra also recently won a best cinematography award at the Spain Film Festival in Valencia.
