CSI Season Eight on DVD this week

This tuesday, October 14th, CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment will release the eighth season of the hit series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation on DVD. The fast-paced drama is about a passionate team of forensic investigators trained to solve crimes the old-fashioned way – by examining the evidence.

To celebrate the release of the DVD, Paramount has created www.csiondvd.com. Visitors to the site will be able to add themselves to the CSI Team, create a unique image of their new team and send it as an encrypted message to their favorite friends and agents.

For fans of Warrick Brown (played by Gary Dourdan), this collection is a kind of farewell to his character, as he is killed in Episode 17, which originally aired on May 15, 2008. Season Eight also saw Sara Sidle (played by Jorja Fox) leave the show after seven seasons, in and episode titled Goodbye and Good Luck, which aired on November 15, 2007. Sara reappeared in last week’s season opener for Warrick’s funeral, but all indications are, that was a one-shot deal.
