Synopsis:
A Sound of Thunder is about a game hunter (played by Ed Burns) who goes on a time-traveling safari owned and operated by Charles Hatton (Ben Kingsley) character to hunt dinosaurs in the prehistoric era. When someone on his team kills a butterfly, he unknowingly sets off a chain reaction that will erase humanity from existence. A team of experts must return back in time and replace the butterfly. Sonia Rand (Catherine McCormack) is the inventor of the time-traveling computer.

Based on a short story by master of science fiction Ray Bradbury, the sci-fi action adventure A Sound of Thunder is set in the future, when time travel is not only possible – it’s a lucrative monopoly. It’s especially profitable for Charles Hatton (Ben Kingsley), the owner of Time Safari Inc., a travel agency that specializes in escorting wealthy clients on exclusive hunting trips back to the Prehistoric Age. When an expedition is compromised and alters the landscape of the future, a seasoned scout (Edward Burns) teams up with the inventor of the time travel technology (Catherine McCormack) to unravel the mystery behind the catastrophic historical changes that are threatening to erase humanity from existence.

Film Fetish trivia:
A Sound of Thunder is based on the short story by Ray Bradbury.

Production was interrupted when severe flooding occurred during the Summer of 2002 in the Czech Republic and severe damage swept the sets.

Pierce Brosnan and director Renny Harlin were originally attached to this film, but both left. Harlin left to direct the film Mindhunters instead.
