Jim Carrey takes a turn towards a much darker side in director Joel Schumacher’s (8MM, Phone Booth, Falling Down) upcoming thriller The Number 23. After the hilarious Fun with Dick and Janeand the kid-friendly Lemony Snicket, he again shows his chameleon-like ability to tackle all genres.
In Number 23, Carrey plays a man obsessed with a book that appears to be based on his life but ends with a murder that hasn’t hapened yet. His obsession also begins to take its toll on his relationship with his wife, played by Virginia Madsen (Sideways).
