Dimension Hooks Up With Single Girls

Dimension Films has acquired the underlying rights to the book “The Hookup Handbook: A Single Girl’s Guide to Living It Up” written by Andrea Lavinthal and Jessica Rozler, and will produce a hilarious and insightful comedy based on the book. Alyssa Embree, Jessica Koosed, and Stacey Harman will adapt the screenplay and Peter Riche (“Tomcats”), Alan Riche (“Starsky & Hutch”) and Wendy Riche (“Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County”) from Riche Productions are set to produce. There is no director or cast attached to the project yet.

Loosely based on the popular book “The Hookup Handbook; A Single Girls Guide to Living it Up” comes a comical tale of three very different young women for whom traditional dating is a thing of the past. In this irreverent and provocative comedy, the pursuit of “the hookup” leads to some unlikely friendships with one another and a series of life-changing romantic adventures.

Peter Riche said, “This book cuts like a laser right to the heart of what’s going on with today’s young people and the way they relate to each other on an emotional level.”

Richard Saperstein, head of production for Dimension Films and Matthew Stein, senior vice president of production, will oversee the project on behalf of Dimension Films. Embree, Koosed and Harman are currently writing “Jingle Belle” for Happy Madison Productions, and their pilot “Kiss & Tell” is in development at the CW with Touchstone & Shady Acres producing.
