According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jessica Biel has signed on to co-star in Lee Tamahori’s sci-fi thriller Next. Nicolas Cage and Julianne Moore are toplining the film, based on a Philip K. Dick short story titled The Golden Man.
Gary Goldman wrote the screenplay about a man (played by Cage) with the unique ability to see future events and affect their outcome. Pursued by the FBI, which is seeking to use his abilities to prevent a global terrorist attack, he ultimately is faced with the choice of saving himself or the world.
Biel’s character is Liz, Cage’s love interest, whom he tries to save from terrorists. Nicolas Cage, Todd Garner, Norm Golightly, Graham King and Arne Schmidt will produce Next.
The film is set for a late March start date.
Biel will also appear in Neil Burger’s upcoming The Illusionist, and Home of the Brave, about 3 soldiers who struggle to re-adjust after returning home from an esxtended tour in Iraq.
