Preview images of Leonardo DiCaprio in deep woods thriller The Revenant

Twentieth Century Fox has released two advanced images featuring Leonardo DiCaprio in the Alejandro González Iñárritu thriller The Revenant.

Deep in the uncharted American wilderness, trapper Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is severely injured and left for dead by a traitorous member of his team, John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). With sheer will as his only weapon, Glass must navigate a hostile environment, a brutal winter, and warring Native American tribes in relentless quest to survive and exact vengeance on Fitzgerald. Based on a true story, The Revenant is directed and co-written by Birdman and Babel filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu.

The Revenant also stars Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter, Paul Anderson, Lukas Haas, Brendan Fletcher, Brad Carter, Kristoffer Joner, Joshua Burge, Robert Moloney, Kory Grim, Ben Leasure, McCaleb Burnett, Christopher Rosamond, Mark Krysko, Timothy Lyle, Peter Strand Rumpel, Forrest Goodluck, Scott Olynek and Cole Vandale.

The Revenant hits limited release on December 25, 2015, then will go wide on January 8, 2016.
