Of course, that same soundtrack doubles as one terrific Mozart collection! And now, it’s available in one 3-CD package (previously it only came in two volumes) that includes updated notes and, of course, the superb interpretations of Neville Marriner and the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields.

Amadeus tells the incredible story of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, told by his peer and secret rival Antonio Salieri – now confined to an insane asylum. Director Milos Forman’s 1984 film adaptation of playwright Peter Shaffer’s Tony-winning play won 10 Academy Awards (including Best Film, Best Actor, and Best Director). Only Wolfgang’s filmic counterpart, Tom Hulce seemed to get overlooked by the Academy.
