Spike Lee to attend audience Q&A for screening of his new indie film Passing Strange

Spike Lee’s astounding new film Passing Strange captures a great theatrical production, originally written by singer/songwriter Stew. Lee’s multi-camera coverage includes backstage scenes, and involves the audience in not only the story itself – the tale of a young black man, dissatisfied with his life in Los Angeles, who sets off for Europe in search of adventure – but also in the precision and intricacy of the stagecraft and the collaborative electricity of ensemble artistry.

Spike, along with the original book’s creator Stew and the cast will be in person on Friday, August 21st, at the 6:15pm and 9:20pm IFC Center screenings in New York City, for an audience Q&A.

Location: IFC Center, 323 Sixth Avenue, New York City, NY 10014
Date: August 21, 2009, at 6:15pm and 9:20pm
