Writer of The Usual Suspects to pen Wolverine sequel script

Christopher McQuarrie, who wrote scripts for Bran Singer’s The Usual Suspects as well as X-Men, has been tapped to write the screenplay for Fox’s sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, according to THR.

Hugh Jackman will return as Logan, the mutant with healing powers and an adamantium-dipped endoskeleton. Jackman will again produce the film, along with Lauren Shuler Donner.

As previously reported, the story line will be based on the early 1980s Chris Claremont/Frank Miller miniseries, which is set in Japan and features Wolverine dealing with ninjas as he decides whether to follow his killer animal instincts or the samurai’s code of honor and respect.
