I figure as a new website on the block, I would jump the gun a bit, and begin talking about how next Summer is shaping up. Well, I am going to start today with a bunch of release dates to get your motors started. Next Summer will of course continue the trend the studios started a number of years ago, with a heap of sequels. Not that its a bad thing. Sequels of recent years have been as good or better than their predecessors and next Summer looks to continue that trend.

Arguably the biggest sequel of next year will be Star Wars: Episode One, starring Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen. This is the episode that is said to bridge the gap between Lucas’ original Star Wars trilogy and the prequels he subsequently brought to the screen. Among its highlights are Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader and the introduction of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia as infants.

Also on the slate are XXX:State of the Union, which stars Ice Cube, Samuel L. Jackson and Willem Dafoe, Batman Begins, which is actually an origin story and the Ring Part 2, which is being directed by Hideo Nakata, who directed the Japanese original.

We will have features on all the films in coming weeks, but for now, take a look at the Release Dates section to see a complete list of what has been penciled in so far RIGHT HERE.
