According to Variety, Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal are in talks to star in the film Babel,.
Details of the movie are scarce, but according to Variety, it will portray four interweaving stories set in Morocco, Tunisia, Mexico and Japan and is kicked off with a tragedy striking a married couple on holiday.
The new studio chief at Paramount, Brad Grey, has set up the star-driven drama, to be released sometime in 2006. It will be directd by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, who directed 21 Grams and Amores Perros, AKA Love’s a Bitch.
Brad Pitt next stars with Angelina Jolie in the action/ espionage film, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which is being distributed by Fox.
On Sunday, Blanchett won for best supporting Oscar for her performance in The Aviator, and Garcia Bernal won acclaim for his star turn in Y Tu Mama Tambien before following it up with The Motorcycle Diaries.
