The Thing remake to preview this weekend at New York Comic-Con 2010

Universal Pictures presents the cast and filmmakers from its upcoming prequel thriller The Thing. In the film that serves as a prelude to John Carpenter’s cult sci-fi classic 1982 thriller of the same name, paranoia spreads like an epidemic among a group of researchers as they’re infected, one by one, by a mystery from another planet.

We’re not sure yet exactly which cast members will be in town for the preview, but there should be some crazy footage from this film, which is what fanboys like me really want to see anyway.

The Thing stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Eric Christian Olsen, Joel Edgerton, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ulrich Thomsen, Jonathan Walker, Stig Henrik Hoff, Kim Bubbs and Trond Espen Seim, and is directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr., who is making his feature directorial debut.

Universal Pictures The Thing Preview Panel takes place on Saturday, October 9th, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM in the IGN Theater.
