Watch a free early theatrical screening of NBC’s new political drama The Event |

That’s right, NBC is sponsoring a series of theatrical pre-screenings of the conspiracy thriller The Event, in five cities, including Petersburg, Virginia, along with Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, and Oklahoma City. The screenings run through September 19th.

The Event is an emotional, high-octane conspiracy thriller that follows Sean Walker (Jason Ritter), an everyman who investigates the mysterious disappearance of his would-be fiancee Leila (Sarah Roemer), and unwittingly begins to expose the biggest cover-up in U.S. history.

Sean’s quest will send ripplers through the lives of an eclectic band of strangers, including newly elected U.S. President Elias Martinez (Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood); Sophia Maguire (Emmy Award nominee Laura Innes), who is the leader of a mysterious group of detainees; and Leila’s shadowy father (Scott Patterson). Their futures are on a collision course in a global conspiracy that could ultimately change the fate of mankind.

The Event will premieres September 20th on NBC at 9PM/8PM Central Time.
