New Kato chosen for upcoming Green Hornet feature

Sci-Fi Wire reports that Sony Pictures posted a Twitter update indicating that Taiwan-born musician, actor and filmmaker Jay Chou, who is is reportedly a Bruce Lee fan, has been contracted to replace Stephen Chow as Kato in Seth Rogen’s upcoming The Green Hornet, based on the 1960s television show about a masked hero who fights crime.

Chou joins Nicolas Cage, Rogen and Cameron Diaz in the Michel Gondry-directed movie, which is eyeing a July 2010 release.

Rogen and Evan Goldberg wrote the script and Neal Moritz is producing through his Original Films.
